From conception to awarding and acceptance: ICB supported LWV Hessen with comprehensive consulting services during the introduction of a collaboration platform.

The initial situation at the Landeswohlfahrtsverband Hessen (LWV) was not unusual: the existing telephone system in the three administrative offices had reached the end of its service life and the LWV was looking for a collaboration platform that would meet the requirements of a modern workplace.
The customer already had an idea, but wanted to know more precisely what demands would be placed on a workplace in the future.
Together with LWV, ICB developed a concept for a collaboration platform that took communication at the municipal association to a new level: Uniform communication landscape at all locations, technical standardization, optimization of service processes, seamless integration of workstations outside the locations (home office) and, last but not least, less effort for in-house IT because more tasks were to be outsourced to the systems and to the service provider for the communication solution. At the same time, ICB drew up a list of services, including a list of criteria and a price matrix, and carried out the tender.
The decision was made in favor of a modern solution based on the Cisco Unified Communication Manager, including conference systems. The role of the ICB was now also that of moderator between the LWV and the implementation service provider, in this case a large system house based in Baden-Württemberg. The tasks included moderating status meetings, defining project plans, recording defects and approving results.
As the cooperation with the system house did not always run smoothly and the project even stalled at times, trouble-shooting criteria were also required.
The ICB ensured clarity by, among other things, recalling and redefining the distribution of tasks between the LWV and the service provider. Measures that led to the service provider assigning more staff to the LWV project and the entire collaboration project gaining in importance.
The LWV commissioned ICB to design and monitor the entire renewal of the communications infrastructure at the association, which has over 1,400 employees, together with ICB - from the technical design to the Europe-wide award procedure and implementation through to acceptance.
ICB supported LWV in improving communication across the organization with its new collaboration platform. The solution not only takes into account all legal requirements, but also offers far-reaching benefits for all employees. For example, they are much more flexible thanks to location-independent and mobile working. Among other things, the company benefits from higher productivity.
