As is often the case, the company's IT structure could not keep up with the pace of growth. The merchandise management system based on the outdated AS/400 platform was proving increasingly unsuitable. As a retail company is particularly dependent on functioning supply chains and supporting IT, the company decided to switch from AS/400 to the ERP solution Microsoft Dynamics 365.

At the beginning, all affected processes were analysed in order to enable optimisation with process maps. Through the precise process analysis, it became clear that the selected architecture was not suitable for the retail company. A cloud ERP solution was recommended.
The applied project methodology was also replaced by the specially developed 7-phase best practice project plan. A new architecture, optimised project planning and a consistent standardisation course enabled the company to successfully introduce Microsoft Dynamics 365 company-wide.
